Bhubaneswar, March 31: The state-level technical committee for Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Thursday approved 11 infrastructure project proposals under the scheme worth Rs 102.36 crore.
“The committee headed by housing and urban development department secretary G Mathivathanan held its meeting here and accorded the technical approvals to five water metering projects, two parks and four septage management projects,” said housing and urban development department special secretary Sirir Kumar Ratho.
The five water-metering projects worth Rs 89.24 crore would be executed in Bhubaneswar while the two park projects worth Rs 1.52 crore would be implemented in Berhampur and Sambalpur, he added.
The four septage management projects would be executed in Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur and Baripada with an investment of Rs 11.6 crore, Ratho said further. All the projects will be undertaken under the AMRUT scheme.
Notably, nine urban centres in the state having a population of more than one lakh are covered under the AMRUT scheme. They are Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Puri, Bhadrak, Balasore and Baripada.
