Raisuan: On a paradoxicall turn of events scores of BPL people do not have centricity connection in their houses under Soubhagya Yojana, but administration has handed them light bulbs under Ujwala Yopjna in some areas under Keonjhar block.
Both the beneficiaries and local intelligentsia expressed surprise over it and sought to know what they will do with the bulbs when their homes are yet to be connected with electricity.
Social activists Rajesh Prasad Sahu said that leaders of some political parties are trying to get closer to the innocent voters by offering them such lollipops so as to garner their votes.
Many BPL people, on condition of anonymity, were confused over the offering of bulbs ahead of general and assembly elections.
SDO of the electricity division Sarbeswar Sahu said that the people will use the bulbs when they will be provided with electricity.
