Cuttack, March 21: Bikash Rout (9/75) of Dhenkanal bowled brilliantly to set Malkangiri on the back-foot on day one of a two-day Group-C match of the Kalahandi Cup cricket tournament at the Nimpur Ground here Monday.
Opting to bat, Dhenkanal were bowled out for 156 in their first innings with Sunil Sahoo (59) emerging as the highest scorer. Samir Jena (6/42) was the wrecker-in-chief for Malkangiri. In reply, Bikash bowled a devastating spell to restrict Malkangiri to 149 and get a crucial seven-run lead for his side.

Kishore Club of Bhubaneswar entered the semifinals of the Bhagyadhar Trophy football tournament after edging past Home Guard, Cuttack 2-1 in a quarterfinal match at the Indira Ground here Monday.
After the barren first half, Sashikant Sandil of the winning team drew first blood in the 62nd minute. Bibhu Champati doubled the lead four minutes later. Santosh Behera got one back for Home Guard in the 75th minute.
