BHUBANESWAR: The 10th cultural evening of Toshali National Crafts Mela was marked by the silken voice of Humane Sagar. The evening’s programme was graced by Sports secretary of state Bishal Dev and Collector Arvind Agarwal along with Subha Sharma, Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Dept, Government of Odisha.
Humane started the evening’s musical programme with Bande Mataram and he enthralled the gathering with his popular numbers like Niswas to Bina Mora Chalena, Bhijei de and Chadei song which were hugely appreciated by the music loving crowd.
The food court was packed by foodies who savoured cuisines besides enjoying the captivating music. Musician Arindam Bharati from Cuttack, who was accompaning the singer, said, “It has been a great night and each song were personally selected by the singer himself. The audience loved his soulful music.”
“I have personally come from Khurda just to watch Humane sing live. It has always been a dream of mine which has been finally fulfilled,” said an elated fan Jitendra swain.
Minati Garabadu another celebrated singer of a famous melody group also performed at the event. A member of The Rock group of Odisha Sini Mohapatra was blown away by the response of the crowd to Humane’s live programme.
Besides the crafts stalls pulling many denizens, the Toshali food court also witnessed more footfall compared to last year. “If one gets to listen to popular stars like Sagar, it’s definitely worth it to visit Toshali National Crafts Mela in the evenings,” said famous TV artist Barada.
