Bhubaneswar: Veteran Odia actor Debu Bose died Wednesday night at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 75.
Bose, who had earlier suffered two heart attacks, was undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past four months. He had been put on a ventilator when his condition deteriorated. Born December 2, 1942, Bose had acted in more than 150 Odia and Bengali movies. He had also produced and acted in several Odia television series.
Bose made his debut with ‘Tapasya’ in 1980s but rose to prominence after his roles in super hit films such as ‘Pua Mora Kala Thakura’, ‘Samaya Kheluchi Chaka Bhaunri’, ‘Ki Heba Sua Posile’, ‘Phula Chandana’, ‘Suna Chadhei’, ‘Kaberi’ and ‘Sahari Bagha’.
His last film was ‘Raasta’. He was also a good dancer and choreographer and was trained by renowned Odissi guru Kelucharan Mohapatra.
