Dhenkanal: A man was killed while the other sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between a car and a two-wheeler on National Highway- 53 under Bhuban police limits here early Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Jagannath Maharana (the rider) of Narasinghaprasad panchayat.
Gandua Maharana (pillion) of the same panchayat has sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Bhuban Community Health Centre (CHC).
The incident occurred near Dayanabili area when the duo was returning home from Birasal village under Kankadahad block after work.
They collided head-on with the car, after the rider lost balance, leading to Jagannath’s death on the spot.
Police seized the vehicles and launched a probe. A case was registered and the body was sent for post-mortem.
