10 new nursing colleges to come up in Odisha, Health Minister Naba Kishore Das

Jharsuguda: Ten new nursing colleges, each with 60 seats will be setup in different districts in Odisha, state Health Minister Naba Kishore Das informed Monday while talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a vaccination camp here in this town. Sources said that the districts where the colleges are expected to come up are Mayurbhanj, Bolangir, Koraput, Balasore, Jharsuguda, Puri, Sundargarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Jajpur.

The places where the nursing institutes will come up have also been finalised. They are: Pandit Raghunath Murmu MC&H (Baripada), Santha Bhima Bhoi MC&H (Bolangir), Saheed Laxman Nayak MC&H (Koraput), Fakir Mohan MC&H (Balasore), Cardiac Super Speciality Hospital (Jharsuguda), Shri Jagannath MC&H (Puri), Sundargarh Medical College (Sundargarh), Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose MC&H (Talcher), Govt Medical College (Keonjhar) and Govt Medical College (Jajpur).

With the setting up of the 10 new colleges a total of 600 seats will be available every year for those wanting to pursue nursing as a career.
