New Delhi: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Thursday sought the intervention of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for the repatriation of 10 Odia workers stranded in Sarjah, Dubai.
In his letter, Pradhan said 10 Odias who were working in the company Asia Pacific Building Contracting LLC, Dubai, and accommodated at Sajja, Sharjah, are held captive.
“They released a video about a month back seeking help for their repatriation and their mobile numbers are now deactivated. It has been ascertained that these men belong to Nayagarh and Ganjam districts of Odisha. It was stated that Nayagarh District Labour Officer had also visited the houses of some victims, but there was no progress in the matter yet,” Pradhan stated in the letter.
