106 cobras rescued from man’s house in Bhadrak

Dhamnagar: The Bhadrak snake helpline team rescued as many as 106 baby cobras from a house at Paika Sahi of Samapur village near Dhamnagar in Bhadrak district Saturday morning.

According to reports, Bijay Bhuiyan, a resident of Samapur village, saw a cobra in a termite mound in his house few months ago.

He took care of the snake by giving it milk and food. Initially, he spotted around 20 baby cobras coming out of the termite mound.

Curiously, he poured Phenyl in the mound after which more than 100 snakes slithered out of the mound.

He then alerted the snake rescue helpline and the team rescued the cobras.

Around 10-11 snakes died due to the effect of phenyl.

The helpline members said they would leave the baby snakes in a nearby forest.
