Bhubaneswar: Five months after the cyclonic storm Fani pummeled the Odisha coast, the state government has completed the exercise of identifying affected families, who lost their houses in the cyclone.
The state government has uploaded the details of 12.75 lakh beneficiaries of 14 Fani-affected districts on Central government’s mobile application and a proposal in this regard has been sent to the Centre. This was revealed at the review meeting held under the chairmanship of Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Pratap Jena here, Thursday.
Similarly, the government has identified another 10 lakh families in 16 other districts to provide pucca houses under rural housing schemes. However, the details of these 10 lakh beneficiaries have not been uploaded on the Central app as it has been blocked.
The government has set a target to cover 8 lakh beneficiaries under Biju Pucca Ghar Yojna (BPGY) of which 75,000 houses have been completed. Jena asked the department officials to complete the work of 21,000 houses that are under construction.
Under 5T programme, the state government is going to provide instalments to the beneficiaries of the BPGY scheme through mobile app.
As per plan, the beneficiaries will upload pictures of their houses in the app to get the money. Details of the payment made by government will be sent to the beneficiaries through the app, the minister said.
Jena also instructed the officials to complete the projects undertaken under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme and immediately start work on those projects, which are pending with district administrations.
