Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered another 141 new COVID-19 cases by late Monday night, taking the total tally in the state to 2,245. A total of 156 cases were reported earlier in the day.
Out of the newly detected cases, 110 were from quarantine centres and the remaining 31 have contracted the virus locally.
Among the fresh cases, Ganjam registered the highest number — 27 cases. The following districts are Khurda (26), Nuapada (19), Kendrapara (13), Jajpur (ten), Sundargarh (eight), Bolangir (seven), Cuttack (six), Puri (five), Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur and Keonjhar (four each), Balasore and Dhenkanal (two each) and Sambalpur, Angul, Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh (one each).
The total number of active cases in Odisha now stands at 2245 of which 991 are active cases. As many as 1245 patients have so far been cured of the disease. The toll still remains at seven. However, there are two deaths due to reasons other than COVID-19.
