Rayagada: At least 15 children, including 11 girls, who were allegedly being trafficked to Andhra Pradesh, have been rescued from Rayagada railway station Saturday night.

According to reports, the children from Kanchamunhi village near Seskhal were being transported to the neighbouring state to be labourers at a prawn processing unit in Nellore.

When the Railway police spotted the children at Rayagada railway station, the officials quizzed them.

The children, who are with Childline now, would be handed over to their parents Sunday.

“On being tipped off, we reached the station and rescued the children,” a Railway police source said.
