Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here has issued thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by rains alert notices for 17 districts.
Isolated places in Nayagarh, Khurda, Sonepur, Nuapara, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati and Rayagada districts are likely to witness thunderstorm, lightning and rains in the next 24 hours. Similarly, some places in the coastal areas are expected to experience Nor’wester rains between April 7 and 9.
The IMD has predicted that temperatures will soar in the state April 10, onwards. While the coastal areas will record maximum temperatures of 40 degree Celsius, it is expected to rise above 42 to 45 degree Celsius in the other parts of Odisha.
