Vehicle arrangements will be in place to bring the voters to their respective booths, informed Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan while briefing a press about the arrangements to ensure free and fair elections at District Rural Development Agency conference hall Wednesday.
As many as 110 sensitive booths have been identified in the district. These booths will be under CCTV surveillance at all times. This apart, modern videography system and extra forces will be deployed at the booths.
No mobile phone or any electronic gadgets will be allowed into the booths. The superintendent of police will brief the media from time to time about the law and order situation.
At the time of filing nominations, the candidate, his four proposers and one agent will be allowed into the election officers’ chamber. While only three vehicles will be allowed inside the office campus, other vehicles, if any, will be parked 100 meters away from the office.
No stone will be left unturned to see that all the voters cast their votes without any hassle. There will be Scouts, NCC and Guide cadets to provide all assistance to the voters, Kalyan informed adding the administration has urged the candidates abide by the rules and norms laid by the election commissioner.
The collector is hoping to see the elections pass off without any hitches; saying cooperation of the media people has been sought in this regard.
