Bhubaneswar: Indian Railways will run 194 special trains to Puri during the famed car festival of Lord Jagannath, said a top railway official Wednesday.
According to information provided by the East Coast Railway (ECoR) Khurda Road DRM Sashikant Singh, as many as 60 additional ticket counters will be opened under Khurda Road Division to handle the added traffic.
“For the safety, security and convenience of passengers, we have drone cameras this time along with sniffer dogs and train information system display board near the Jagannath temple and Puri sea beach,” said Singh.
“In the tourist complex of Puri, the NGO will serve food free of cost there. We have already consulted the Puri Collector in this context,” he added.
ECoR further added that the department is conducting post-Fani restoration in Puri railway station on war-footing.
