2 arrested in city for looting Talcher businessman

Bhubaneswar: Two youths were arrested Thursday by Khandagiri police. They were allegedly looting people after luring them with the promise of ‘escort’ services. The accused have been identified as Amar Senapati of Unit-VIII residing here and Manoj Gouda belonging to Ganjam district. They were robbing people after enticing them with the promise of providing them with pretty girls, informed Khandagiri police sources.

Sources said that a businessman had arrived here from Talcher August 13. He had come in contact with the duo at Bharatpur Chhak on the outskirts of this city.

The two then took him to a house in Chandrasekharpur locality promising to provide him with a teenage girl for fun. However, after they reached the place, the duo physically assaulted the businessman and decamped with the cash he had on him. They also took away his car.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim, Khandagiri police initiated a probe and apprehended the two accused. Details of the victim have not been disclosed by the police for obvious reasons.
