Bhubaneswar: Two brothers have been arrested by the Airfield police Tuesday for allegedly beating a 24-year-old youth to death.
According to the police, the accused Sanjay Sahu and Samir Sahu were forwarded to the court and their bail plea has been rejected.
Jyotiranjan Baliarsingh, a gym instructor, had gone to Bahadalpur village with two friends near the railway level crossing Sunday night when another youth, who was returning home with his mother on a motorcycle, had a scuffle with three of them over a trivial issue. Following this, the youth called up the villagers to settle scores with Jyotiranjan and his friends, police said.
The incident soon took an ugly turn when the locals started beating Jyotiranjan, killing him on the spot. After getting information Khandagiri and Airfield police had rushed to the spot and detained the two friends of the deceased for interrogation.
