Baliguda: In a tragic incident, two persons died and one was seriously injured after the bike they were riding on hit a roadside tree on NH-59 near Bataguda under Baliguda police limits in Kandhamal district Saturday.
One of the deceased has been identified as Rubin Majhi and the injured as Ananta Majhi. The trio was from Kurtamgarh Danungia village. The other deceased’s identity is yet to be ascertained.
According to a source, the trio was heading from Baliguda towards Kurtamgarh. Due to some reasons, the rider of the bike lost control, resulting in the bike running into a roadside tree.
Local people immediately reached the spot and informed the police. Upon reaching the spot, the police recovered the bodies for post mortem and shifted the injured to Baliguda government hospital in an ambulance.
As the news reached Danungia village, a pall of gloom descended on the village. A detailed probe by the police is underway, it was learnt.
