Sonepur: In a tragic road mishap late Sunday night, as many as two persons of a marriage party were killed on the spot and 13 others sustained grievous injuries in Subarnapur district.
According to sources, the marriage party was returning in an ill-fated van to Bargarh from Sonepur after attending the function when their vehicle rammed into a tree near Badakarle village under Rampur police limits of Subarnapur.
Driver of the vehicle lost control over it which, in turn, collided with a road-side tree. Two persons identified as Biranchi Mallick (60) from Malipali village and Jitendra Bagh (25) from Grindola village of Bargarh district died on the spot, an eye-witness stated.

On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued the injured with the help of locals and shifted them to Dunguripali Community Health Centre (CHC). Health condition of some of them is stated to be critical. Rampur Police have initiated a probe into the mishap.
Bodies of the two deceased persons were recovered and sent to hospital for post mortem.
