Champua: Two elephants strayed into Champua NAC in Keonjhar district Saturday night, triggering panic among the residents. Forest officials had a tough time in dealing with the pachyderms.
The jumbos entered the NAC area after crossing the Bhaliadipar river ghat near Godhuli, it was learnt. The animals stayed on the riverbank near Muslim Basti and did not go away.
An elephant squad along with forester Ranjit Kumar Jena and forest guard Mitrabhanu Nayak rushed to the place and kept a close watch on the animals.
