Sambalpur: Three youths attacked two police personnel following a verbal duel at Khetarajpur in Sambalpur district Thursday. Police have arrested two of them while another is absconding.
The two arrested were identified as Babul Bibhar of Talabhattapada and Manoj Rana of Kumbharpada village.
Sources said, the two arrested along with another youth, Pintu Setha, had attacked a lady Constable and a Havildar following a verbal duel near Khetarajpur railway level crossing Wednesday evening.
Since the three youths had parked their motorcyle on the middle of the road near the level crossing leading to traffic congestion, Constable Tulasi Seth and Havildar Mohan Sahu asked them to remove the bike from the road. However, the trio abused the police personnel and later manhandled them.
When police reached the spot, the trio fled the spot. Later, the Khetarajpur police managed to arrest two of them. Search is on to nab the other accused.
