Jajpur: Two youths’ mortal bodies were discovered on a service road near NH-16 in Jajpur district’s Panikoili police limits Friday.
Bijaya Kumar Sahoo and Manas Ranjan Das were the two people that died. The two were from the district’s neighbouring Janha village. Manas worked in a cosmetics manufacturing company, while Bijaya was an auto-rickshaw driver.
Early in the morning, the bodies were spotted by some locals while lying on the road which was closed due to ongoing construction work. Later, the locals informed Panikoili police about the incident.
Both Bijaya and Manas had been to the same spot to meet a girl from nearby village Thursday night, an eyewitness said.

Family members of the two deceased youths alleged that it is a case of pre-planned murder and family of the girl is involved in it.
On being informed, Panikoili police immediately reached the spot. Police have registered a case in this connection and launched a probe. A tiffin box containing make-up items and a motorcycle have been seized from the spot, a senior police official informed.
Bodies of the youths were recovered and sent for post-mortem.
