Bargarh: Police have claimed to have cracked the murder mystery of a 15-year-old boy who was taken from his home and killed by his friends who subsequently dumped the body under a bridge and fled the scene.
Police arrested two youths in this connection, both friends of the deceased, a minor. They have been identified as Asish Bhoi, 19, of Ghulipali in Bargarh and his aide Bikash Bag,19, of Barahamchari.
A case was registered against the duo under sections 306 and 364 and the two were produced in a court late Sunday. They were later remanded in Bargarh sub-jail after the court rejected their bail pleas. Police have also recovered a motorbike, scissors and a knife from their possession.
Preliminary investigations revealed the two had killed the minor over a phone row, Bargarh SDPO Khirasagar Naik told media persons.
According to police, Inesh had found a phone and Asish claimed it belonged to him. However, the two friends broke out in a fight after Inesh refused to part with the instrument and asked him to show the documents.
Irate Asish went to his house and brought a knife and scissors and called his aide Bikash to go with him. Later, the two called Inesh on some pretext and took him to an isolated place and demanded the mobile.
When Inesh did not return, the two stabbed him to death before dumping his body under a bridge and fled the area, police said.
Family members grew apprehensive when Inesh did not return home and lodged a missing complaint after which police recovered Inesh’s body from underneath the bridge. Inesh’s mother spotted the accused duo taking her son on a motorbike and suspected them.
During interrogation, the two confessed to the crime. Earlier, Inesh’s family had staged a road blockade by placing the body across the Gandhi Chhak main road demanding compensation for the bereaved family.
