Bhubaneswar: Even as the Commissionerate Police is leaving no stone unturned to trace the identity of the headless body found on the outskirts of the city, available data claims that as many as 234 bodies found in the city during the last 10 years are yet to be identified.
Data says, as many as 234 unidentified persons were found dead under various police stations in Capital city during the last decade. Khandagiri police station has witnessed maximum number of cases wherein it failed to ascertain the identity of the bodies. Sources claimed that 46 bodies recovered from various places in Khandagiri area between 2010 and 2020 are yet to be identified.
In 2020, cops failed to identify nine bodies recovered in Khandagiri police limits.
Similarly, the police are yet to get the identification details of 13 bodies found in Bargarh police limits during the above mentioned period. Sahid Nagar police have failed to establish the details of 21 dead persons while 33 deceased persons found in Kharavel Nagar police limits during the last 10 years are still to be identified.
The cops failed to identify four bodies found in Dhauli police jurisdiction, two in Mancheswar, five in Tamando, 12 in Jatni police limits during the above period.
Chandaka police are yet to trace the identity of seven bodies it found during the last 10 years. The identity of 13 bodies in Chandrasekharpur area and eight in Airfield police station area are yet to be identified.
Similarly, there are many such unidentified bodies reported from Cuttack UPD. As many as 13 bodies spotted in Barang police limits, 24 under Malgodown police station are yet to be identified till the end of 2020.
Lalbag Police in Cuttack are yet to establish the identity of 59 bodies found during the last 10 years.
