Wooden architecture was the mainstay in traditional Chinese building. Wood was preferred for most traditional architecture, from the halls of the Forbidden City to common houses. This is because Ancient Chinese philosophy states that wood is lucky and easy to produce.
So in this article we will tell you about a building solely built on wood.
While others use cement, bricks, sand and various other things to construct a house, but there is a 24-storey building, which is 99.9 metres high. This eco-friendly wooden building has more than 150 rooms. Fir and pine wood are covered by fir bark or tiles, which is used to strengthen the building. The walls are also made of wood.
Constructing such a tall building using wood is a unique task in itself.
This building, built in Yingshan Town of Dushan County situated in southwest China’s Guizhou Province.
Though it’s currently empty, it has opened doors for tourists who come from faraway places to get a glimpse of this building.
This wood building has been constructed by architect Shui Hang. According to reports, it took two years to build this building and the design of this building was made three years ago prior to that. However, it took more than a year to prepare the blueprint.
