New Delhi: As many as 29 police officials from Odisha will receive Police Medal for Gallantry, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Services on the occasion of Independence Day.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, four police officials namely Additional Superintendents of Police (SP) Saroj Kumar Rath and Gyana Ranjan Mohanty, Vigilance Additional SP M Radha Krishna and Vigilance Sub Inspector Ramesh Chandra Nayak will receive President’s Police Medal for distinguished service.
Similarly, 11 police personnel from the state police namely Additional SP Niranjan Sahu, Sub Inspector Umesh Kumar Singh, Constables Haribandhu Kirsani, Bhimsa Karuan, Samanta Majhi, Rakesh Kumar Swain and Ajay Behera, Sergeant Jyoti Kumar Kiro and Dy Subedar Soumya Ranjan Das will be awarded with Police Medal for Gallantry.
Fourteen police officials from the state will get Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
Notably, two CRPF personnel will receive President’s Police Medal for Gallantry, 675 police officials will be awarded with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service while 88 personnel will receive President’s police medal for distinguished service and 177 will receive Police Medal for Gallantry all over the country during the Independence Day.
