Koraput: An earthquake of 3.8 magnitudes on the Richter scale occurred in Odisha’s Koraput district Friday morning, a notification from National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed.
As per a notification issued by NCS, the mild quake occurred at 5.05 AM for around 2-3 seconds. The earthquake’s epicenter was 129 kilometres away in Chattisgarh’s Jagdalpur area.
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.8, Occurred on 03-03-2023, 05:05:44 IST, Lat: 18.83 & Long: 83.21, Depth: 5 km, Location: Koraput Odisha,” tweeted NCS.

People from Narayanpatna and nearby areas like Laxmipur and Bandhugaon felt jolts at around 5.05 AM. They rushed out of their houses following the tremors. However, there were no casualties or damages.
