Cuttack: In an untoward incident that occurred in the wee hours of Monday, three minors were swept away while bathing in Kendrapara Canal near Birupa River at Jagatpur in Cuttack.

Two of them were rescued by alert locals and frantic search for one more is still underway.
The three minors were known to be Pranab Choudhary (Class VI student of Kalinga Public School, Choudwar), Shakti Rout (Class VIII student of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Nimpur) and Swarup Jena (Class VII student of Bharatiya Vidya Niketan, Jagatpur).
The trio lost their balance while taking bath in the canal. Some locals who were also bathing in the canal noticed the minors drowning. Immediately, the alert locals rescued both Pranab and Shakti. However, Swarup is still untraceable.
On being informed, Jagatpur fire personnel and an ODRAF team launched a frantic search for the three minor boys.
