Bhadrak/Dhenkanal: As many as three persons were killed and one sustained grievous injuries in two separate road accidents Friday night in Bhadrak and Dhenkanal districts.
In the first incident, two men were killed while another became injured after a motorcycle which they were riding was severely hit by a truck on NH-16 near Kaharapokhari locality under Bhandaripokhari police limits in Bhadrak district.
According to an eyewitness, the truck hit the ill-fated motorcycle head-on. On being informed by some locals, a team of fire services personnel from Bhandaripokhari immediately reached the accident site and rescued the three injured men in critical condition.

Later, the injured were sent to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital (DHH) for treatment. However, doctors at the health facility declared two of them ‘brought dead’.
The other injured man was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.
Identities of the three men have not been ascertained yet.
In the second incident, a motorcyclist was killed after his two-wheeler rammed into a car which was previously parked in front of a wine shop on NH-55 near Kanteikolia area in Dhenkanal district.
The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Jagamohan Pradhan of Paikadahikhor village in the district. Jagamohan was on his way from Gobindapur village to Dhenkanal town when he met with an accident at around 8.30pm.
The injured was rushed to Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital (DHH). He succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
