3 govt offices raided over gangster Tito’s link

Kendrapara: Six teams of Vigilance sleuths from Cuttack Tuesday raided several government offices to collect documents and find whether undue favour was shown by government officials in providing sand sairats in the district and in okaying the Sayed Brothers’ Filling Station.

Official sources said Vigilance sleuths visited the Superintendent of Police’s office and collected the inquiry report of SDPO of Kendrapara and the IIC of Kendrapara Town police station, that was provided to the district administration in 2015 to set up the petrol pump at Badahat Mouza, from DIB section.

As per the report it was stated that no law and order situation would occur on the land where the petrol pump is going to be set up. But, it has avoided mentioning about Tito’s criminal activities, sources said.

The vigilance sleuths also collected documents on Sayed Brothers’ Filling Station’s financial transactions in the current fiscal from the civil supply office of Kendrapara, said Rajanikant Das, CSO of Kendrapara.

Vigilance sleuths also carried out land demarcation of Sayed Brothers’ Filling Station with the help of Kendrapara municipality employees and the revenue inspector of Kendrapara Tehsil.

During the Vigilance inquiry on Tito’s link with babus’ it was found that the land lease was provided illegally as per the Indian Registration Act to Benezair Bibi (Tito’s wife) for the Sayed Brothers’ Filling station.

Even, sub-registrar Shiba Mallick also confessed that legal norms were thrown to the winds while giving the lease to Tito’s wife, as registration of the lease agreement was not done.

The Vigilance sleuths also raided the Mahakalapara tehsil office to collect documents on Tito’s sand sariat at Naladia near Nilanchal Bazaar. “We have provided case records, money receipt copy and challan copy of the sand sariat to Vigilance,” said Nilamadhab Bhoi, tehsildar of Mahakalapara.

Vigilance sleuths led by DSP Tanuja Mohanty also conducted an inquiry at the fire station in Kendrapara to find whether fire safety certificate has been provided to Sayed Brothers’ Filling Station. The sleuths collected relevant documents in this regard from the assistant fire officer.

Assistant fire officer, Birabhadra Tudu, said the filling station had been functioning without fire safety NOC.

If the STF and Vigilance drag some of the former officials of the district administration, then everything will come out about the nexus of Tito and unscrupulous officials, sources said.

The STF with the help of Panikoili police seized a Fortuner Sigma car worth Rs 30 lakh from Sayed Saddam Ali, the cousin of Tito, from Panikoili Monday evening. Ali had allegedly financed the Odia film ‘Biswanath’, STF personnel said.
