3 ITDA engineers caught in Vigilance net in Nabarangpur district, cash over Rs 3 lakh seized

Nabarangpur: A team of Vigilance sleuths detained three engineers of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Nabarangpur district on charges of carrying unaccounted cash in their office vehicle (bearing registration number OD-24 A-3328) Thursday night. The vehicle was on its way to Umerkote area.

Those detained are additional executive engineer Sarat Kumar Majhi and assistant engineers Baikunthanath Behera and Pramod Kumar Pradhan.

Acting on a tip-off, the team led by Nabarangpur Vigilance DSP In-charge Kalabati Bagh intercepted the vehicle near Deer Park in Papadahandi and seized Rs 3,09,400 unaccounted cash kept in a handbag. The handbag belonged to Pradhan. He however, could not give any satisfactory reason as to where and why he was carrying such a huge amount. So all the three persons were detained for questioning.

A detail investigation by the sleuths is under way.
