Dharmasala: A car crashed into the rear of a truck at Rathia Chhak under Dharmasala police limits in Jajpur district Friday morning. The accident left three dead on the spot. Two others were injured in the mishap and were shifted to hospital. There condition is stated to be critical, officials said
The West Bengal-bound car (WB 32-L 0752) was travelling from Bhubaneswar when it lost control and hit the truck (WB 23-B 3738) from behind.

All the three deceased are males. However, their identities are yet to be ascertained. A woman travelling in the car and the driver sustained grievous injuries. Both were first taken to the Dharmasala hospital in the district before being shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their conditions deteriorated.
Dharmasala police removed the severely damaged car which had got stuck under the truck with a JCB machine. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem. An investigation has been launched as to how the accident occurred.
