Bhanjanagar:Police Thursday arrested three more youths at a village under Belaguntha police limits in Ganjam district for their involvement in IPL betting racket.
The officials got the success close on the heels of arrest of six others in Sambalpur district on similar ground a few days back.
The police seized Rs 3,000 and three mobile phones from their possession. The accused were identified as Pradip Swain of Belaguntha, Seemanchal Swain of Bhanjanagar and Ranjan of Burapali under Tarsingh police limits.
Several others involved in the crime managed to escape after sensing the raid, admitted an official of the raiding party. A case has been registered and police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconders, it was learnt. On the other hand, the police have kept a vigil on the prime suspects in the case, officials said.
According to reports, the accused were running the racket inside an isolated building near Belguntha block office. Acting on a tip-off, outpost officer Sabyasachi Malla along with a police team conducted a surprise raid and arrested the accused.
