Balichandrapur: More than 300 hundred Buddhist monks, nuns, devotees, social workers, environmentalists and sociologists Saturday visited Lalitgiri under Mahanga block in Cuttack district, as part of a week-long ‘padayatra’ that started October 24 from Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar.
When the team reached Olasuni square Friday, they were welcomed by president, Balichandrapur Press Club, Prakash Chandra Samal, Mahanga police station IIC Jugal Kishore Das, convener, Odisha Chapter of National Youth Project Madhusudan Das and members of other social organisations. They spent the night at Lalitgiri High School.
On behalf of Pel Drukpa Charitable Trust, Gyalwang Drukpa said after visiting Lalitgiri and Paradip, the team would spend Saturday night also at Lalitgiri High School. Sunday they will resume the journey to Udaygiri and Ratnagiri, disseminating the message of peace and harmony.
