Kendrapara: The special task force (STF) under the State Crime Branch Wednesday started the process of freezing more than 50 bank accounts of gangster Tito, his wife Benazir and other relatives (18 people) in 34 banks, said Satyajeet Nayak, the SP of STF (CB) .
Letters have been issued to tehsildars of Kendrapara, Dharmasala, Balichandrapur, Mahakalapada, Pattamundai, Garadpur, Marsaghai for supply of information and documents related to the tendering process of Balighats and moorum, among others. A letter has been written to Inspector General of Registration, Cuttack and Director Odisha e-Governance Services Ltd for supply of information and documents related to land property, mouza, tehsil, and purchaser, Nayak said.
Devidutt Dash, DGM, EPI Ltd, was summoned for interrogations for the tender at the district headquarters hospital— a mother and childcare project worth Rs 110 crore for a 700-bed hospital. One Bandana Roy was asked to furnish detailed information regarding Kolkota land deal of Rs 1.10 crore, informed Nayak.
Meanwhile, Tito’s connections with Odia cinema came to the fore when the Special Task Force (STF) stumbled upon a few leads pertaining to investments in the film industry. According to STF, Tito had invested in an Odia film named ‘Biswanath’. The mahurat of the film was held recently and the gangster was looking forward to making big bucks after the release of the film.
