Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has found the indulgence of 36 persons, including 34 servitors and two non-servitors, in the gaffe leading to the delay in performance of rituals for which the presiding deities were forced to fast for over 14 hours December 28 last year, SJTA chief administrator Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra said here Friday.
According to Mohapatra, the temple administration has been dealing with the incident with utmost priority. “Following examination of the CCTV footages of the fateful day and other circumstantial evidences, the SJTA found involvement of around 36 persons. Show-cause notices have been served on 18 servitors, while details of the incident will be sought from 16 others soon,” Mohapatra pointed out.
Dubbing the incident ‘unfortunate’, Mohapatra said the temple administration has almost identified the wrongdoer(s). However, as of now the probe details cannot be made public as it is an ‘internal affair’ of the temple.
