Bhubaneswar: Following in the footstep of firefighters of Odisha, 37 members of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have come forward to donate their plasma after having recovered from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik thanked and praised the NDRF and Fire Services personnel for coming forward to donate plasma to aid the treatment of serious COVID-19 patients after recuperating from the infection.

Additional Chief Secretary to Odisha Government Pradeep Jena posted the update on his personal Twitter handle.
Jena’s tweet, Saturday evening, said “37 Amphan returned personnel have volunteered for plasma donation”. He thanked each of one of the brave officers and also Battalion Commandant Kispotta and NDRF DG Satya Narayan Pradhan.
DG Fire Services Satyajit Mohanty had tweeted that Odisha Fire Service (OFS) personnel had volunteered to donate plasma Saturday. In the first phase, ten of them will donate plasma at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack, the tweet added.
About 500 personnel of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and OFS, and 10 teams of NDRF had been sent to West Bengal May 23 to assist the West Bengal government in relief and rescue operation in the Cyclone Amphan hit areas.
