Bhubaneswar: Residents woke up to mild tremors Saturday morning in Mayurbhanj district and adjoining areas of the state.
Tremors were felt in Rairangpur, Bisoi, Gorumahisani, Bijatala and Bahalada areas of the district at around 6.20am this morning. It lasted a few seconds triggering panic among the denizens.
According to Bhubaneswar based Regional Meteorological Centre’s HR Biswas, the epicenter of the 4.4 magnitude earthquake was at Saraikela district of Jharkhand.
There are no reports of any damage to property or lives so far.
