Dhenkanal: Acting on a tip-off, Excise officials conducted several raids and arrested four persons on charges of selling illegal country liquor and peddling drugs here Tuesday.
The four persons have been forwarded to court. A resident, Joginath Behera of Jiral village, was arrested and 7 kg ganja was seized from his possession.
Similarly, Excise officials raided houses in Baisinga, Kantio Kateni and Similia and arrested three persons while seizing 25 litres of illegal country liquor from their possession.
According to reports, eight persons have been arrested in similar cases over the last five days.
