4 nabbed for bus hawker’s murder

Berhampur: Badabazar Police in Silk City arrested four persons in connection with the sensational murder of a bus hawker in its area, Thursday. Police recovered the weapons used in that killing from their possession. However, the main accused is still at large. Police said he has been identified and very soon will be arrested. Due to past enmity, the hawker was killed, police said. The accused had prepared a blueprint to kill him one day before the murder, Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M said and added that four accused had been arrested while a manhunt is on to nab the main accused.

Police said that Sanatan Chowdhury was working as a bus hawker in the new bus stand and was living with his third wife, Sumitra Chowdhury at Acharya Vihar, near Fastgate Duduma Colony under Badabazar police limits. He was returning home on his scooter after finishing his work May 6 night. He was brutally attacked and killed by four to five persons in a deserted place a little distance from his home. Police recovered the body and started an investigation in this regard after tracking the mobile and investigating the CCTV footage.
