Bhubaneswar: As many as 41 industrialists have shown interest to set up steel plants in Odisha, Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik told the state Assembly Monday.
Replying to a question of Saluga Pradhan (BJD), the Minister said while two Industrialists showed their interest to set up industries in Odisha after the 2016 conclave, 37 industrialists were keen to set up their industries after the 2018 conclave and two after the 2022 Make in Odisha conclave.
He said while two industrial units have started production, one has not yet been grounded and the rest are under implementation.
The industries under implementation included Rs 50,000 crore 12 MTPA steel plant by JSW Utkal Steel Limited in Jagatsinghpur district, Rs 47,599 crore steel plant at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district by Tata Steel Limited, Rs 55,000 crore steel plant by Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd at Rengali, Rs 102,275 crore steel plant by Arcel Mittal and Nippon Steel India Ltd at Mahakalpada in Kendrapara district, Rs 97,070 crore steel plant by Jindal Steel Odisha Ltd at Angul and Rs 38,000 crore steel plant at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district by Arcel Mittal and Nippon Steel India Ltd.
