Bhubaneswar, August 31: The Orissa Crime Branch police have arrested three people for helping Satyam Sekhar Roul, the son of self styled godman Sarathi baba to flee in a bid to evade arrest.

Crime Branch sources said, three accused Pilu alias Pilaski Swain, Silu alias Biswajit Patnaik and Bulu alias Harish Chandra Das were arrested Sunday and produced in the court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM), Cuttack Monday.
Sources said, the three accused had harboured Satyam in Biswnath Enclave near Srivihar in the city and paved the way for him to flee from Orissa to evade arrest.
During investigation, it was found that Satyam had given Rs 20 lakh to the three accused for their help out of which the sleuths of Crime Branch have recovered Rs 16,95,000 from them.
Satyam fled Bhubaneswar leaving his car near Apollo hospital after he was sought by the Crime Branch for interrogation. Later, he was arrested from Mumbai and brought to Bhubaneswar.
Satyam is now lodged in Choudwar jail along with his father Sarathi after the court rejected their bail petitions.
A special court in Cuttack rejected the bail application of Satyam Monday. His counsel pleaded that he had no role in the financial transactions of Sarathi and the allegations levelled against the youth were baseless. The court also posted the hearing of Sarathi’s bail plea to September 4. The Crime Branch submitted necessary records with regard to the Sarathi case. UNI
