Barbil: Five Bullet motorcycle owners were fined for causing noise pollution in the industrial town of Keonjhar district Wednesday.
Proud possession of Royal Enfield is a thing of past. These days Bullet seems to apply at scaring fellow commuters by making deafening sound. It has become a trend amongst youngsters who replace the original silencers of their Royal Enfield bikes with a special kind of silencer to get a louder throttle.
Wednesday, Barbil police looked out for such noise creating Bullets. During check up, five bullet owners were detained for the offense of changing original silencer to produce the harsh sound, causing discomfort to the elderly and the sick.
After collecting a fine of Rs 22, 500 from these offenders and changing the morphed silencers, the bikers were let go; police added saying that the drive would continue for some more days.
