5-day nat’l theatre festival in City starts today

Bhubaneswar: Bidyakanak Srujanusthan, one of the prominent theatre troupes of the City, is organising its fifth National Theatre Festival -2023 here at Rabindra Mandap starting Sunday.

The five-day event will have one play in Odia and four others in different Indian languages.

On the first evening, the host organisation will present the Odia play Aei Bodhe Prema (written by Dilip Balabanta Ray and directed by Jagadish Prasad Maharana).

Day 2 will witness Hindi play Bhumi (Story- Ashis Pathak and Direction-Swati Dubey) to be presented by Samagam Rangamandal of Jabalpur.

Three other plays of the festival are –Hindi plays A Boring Story (Story- Anton Chekhov, Direction-Baharul Islam) by Seagull Theatre of Guwahati; Andho Ka Hati (Story- Sarad Joshi, Direction- Sanjay Upadhyay) by Nirmal Kalamanch of Patna and Bengali play KunjoR Bhut (Story –Upendra Kishore Roychoudhury, Direction- Shaibal Das) by  Nahli of Kolkata.

This was stated by organisation’s president Sudhakar Patri and secretary Shubhakanta Padhi at a press meet Friday.
