5 nat’l spokespersons in BJD’s jumbo media team

Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday reconstituted its media team comprising 29 leaders.

The jumbo media team is having one coordinator, five national spokespersons, 14 state-level spokesperson and 10 panelists.

Rajya Sabha MP Sasmit Patra has been appointed as the media coordinator while senior leaders Pinaki Misra, Anubhav Mohanty, Amar Patnaik, Sasmit Patra and Satyanarayan Sahu will act as national spokespersons of the party, said BJD general secretary Bijay Nayak.

Pratap Keshari Deb, Debi Prasad Mishra, Byomokesh Ray, Prasant Nanda, Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Subash Chouhan, Subash Singh, Akash Das Nayak, Anubhav Patnaik, Lelin Mohanty, Sulata Deo, Lopamudra Buxipatra, Shreemayee Mishra and Bharadwaj Mishra have been selected as spokespersons of the party at the state level, he said.

This apart, 10 party leaders including Mihir Mohanty, Santosh Lenka, Tapan Das, Om Prakash Sahu, Harish Choudhury and Durga Samantray have been appointed as panelists, who will attend various debates and discussions in local TV channels.

Party sources said the BJD will appoint new chiefs of its women, youth and student wings soon. The process has been initiated and the party will go for organisational polls after completion of the ongoing membership drive. The drive will continue till October 31.
