5-T secy reviews ‘Mo Sarkar’ in Boudh, Kandhamal districts

Phulbani/Boudha: A team of senior IAS officers Friday paid a surprise visit to Kandhamal and Boudha districts to have a first-hand experience of how government-funded welfare schemes are being implemented in the state under the 5T initiatives of ‘Mo Sarkar’. The team had surprise lunch at Boudh Aahaar Centre.

Secretary to Chief Minister, Transformation and Initiatives (5T), VK Pandian and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, accompanied by National Health Mission (NHM) Director Shalini Pandit Friday visited the Aahar Centre at Boudh and like others made the payments and had their meals. The bill was footed by the Chief Secretary.

They inquired about the quality and the quantity of the food served and about the cleanliness at the Aahar Centre from people who were having their lunch at the centre to which they got a positive response.

Earlier, the trio visited different wards of the district headquarters hospitals in Boudh and Kandhamal districts to assess the functioning of the government healthcare facilities.

They interacted with the patients and their relatives at the hospital and inquired about the facilities. They also held brief meetings with district administration officials and doctors. The visit was a part of ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on October 2.

Pandian and Pandit Thursday toured Rayagada, Nuapada and Kalahandi districts. Pandian, Pandit and Finance Secretary Ashok Meena were on a tour to Koraput, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri with the same mission.
