Bhadrak: At least four buses and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) were gutted after a major fire broke out in the wee hours of Wednesday at around 4.00am at a local garage on NH-16 near Dahanigadia Chhak in Bhadrak district.

According to an eye-witness, a number of makeshift cabins located nearby were also gutted. The staffs that were sleeping inside the buses had a close shave in the incident as they managed to escape.
On being informed by locals, a team of fire-fighting personnel from Bhadrak town immediately reached the mishap site. After relentless efforts for over three hours, the fire personnel managed to douse the flames, the eye-witness added.
“We received the information about the fire in the early hours and immediately rushed to the spot with three teams. We have brought the fire under control. However, the operation is still on,” Harekrushna Mohapatra of the fire-fighting team expressed.
