5T School: Parents warn stir as basic infrastructure missing

Bangiriposi: Parents of the students of Adarsha Vidyalaya, Bangiriposi through Principal Monalisha Nayak have presented a written complaint to the district Collector over the lack of basic infrastructure in Adarsha Vidyalaya at Jamadapala of Banakati panchayat under Bangiriposi block in Mayurbhanj district. As per reports, students of classes VI and VII in the school are sitting on the classroom floor and studying as there is no facility of bench and desk for the students. Notably, construction of the school was started in 2019. Due to the unprecedented delay in the construction of the classrooms, students took admission and studied for two years sans basic facilities. When construction was completed in 2021, the students went to the smart classrooms with lots of hope. Even as two more years have passed after they moved to the newly constructed classrooms, they are still deprived of the most basic facilities. The smart pictures of the smart schools under 5T have been exposed.

On the other hand, the government is declaring that it will open smart schools in each block of the state. Here, there is no facility for laboratory and computer teaching available in the school for the students of Classes IX and X, for which the students are suffering a lot. The parents also threatened agitation if their demands are not fulfilled within seven days of receiving the written complaint. Upon being asked in this regard, principal Monalisha Nayak said, “I have informed the higher authorities many times to draw their attention towards the plight of the school but till now no steps have been taken.”
