Bhubaneswar: 5T Secretary VK Pandian Sunday morning visited several construction sites in Bhubaneswar including Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Baramunda, new road to connect CRPF square to Institute of Mathematics, affordable housing project in Chandrasekharpur and Incubation tower near Infocity to review the progress of these projects.
The ISBT at Baramunda is being built over a land spreading 15.5 acres at a cost of Rs 180 crore. The bus depot at Khandagiri is a part of this project with a parking capacity for 300 buses. The project is being constructed by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and it is targeted to be finished by June 2022. After taking stock of the construction work, Pandian asked the officials to ensure the quality of work shouldn’t be compromised and the work should complete within the stipulated time frame.
The secretary then reviewed the progress of the Left Parallel Road Project, which is envisaged to reduce the traffic on the Jayadev Vihar-Patia road. The road will connect CRPF Square to Institute of Mathematics in phases. The 13.2 kilometres long road has been estimated to be constructed at a cost of Rs 92 crore. Currently, the construction of 5.17 km of the 6-lane road between Xavier Square and Infocity Square is underway. For this project, February 2022 has been fixed as the deadline. Pandian asked the officials to ensure completion of the project within the stipulated time.
After visiting the affordable housing project in Chandrasekharpur, Pandian said the houses will be allotted to beneficiaries soon. BDA is constructing the project wherein 2,600 houses are coming up over a land measuring 20.21 acres on a PPP mode. Besides houses, there will be a primary school, primary health centre, shopping area, play area etc. The project will complete in two phases by September 2022.
Similarly, after taking stock of the progress of the Incubation Tower near Infocity, Pandian asked officials to ensure the completion of the project within the set time limit. Two towers with G+12 floors with two basements are coming up with a built-up area of 3.36 lakh square feet at a project cost of Rs 221 crore. The deadline set for the completion of the project is December 31, 2021.
