Bhubaneswar: The current financial year’s first supplementary budget along with six significant Bills will be tabled in the Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly commencing September 4, informed state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh Sunday.
The Council of Ministers headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had August 23 approved a supplementary budget of Rs 12,768 crore to be presented on the first day of the Monsoon Session. Besides provisions for various other schemes, additional financial allocations have been made in the budget for newly announced flagship schemes of Odisha government like Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.
A meeting of the BJD Legislature Party will be held Monday to identify the issues, including Mahanadi Tribunal, Polavaram project and Centre’s negligence towards Odisha, that need to be raised in the House for discussion. The strategies to counter the Opposition will also be finalised in the meeting.
